image coming soon Alisha Trotter, Office Manger
We welcomed back Alisha Trotter, as our Office Manger, in the summer of 2009! She returned to Bend after 5 years of living in Southern California and working at a large Veterinary Hospital there. She has 15 years of veterinary experience and worked with Dr. Maas for 4 years prior to moving to California. She is very happy to be back and a part of Dr. Maas' team.

Alisha lives with her boyfriend Kip, two teenage sons Jayse and Cade, a Malamute/Husky named Montague, 2 cats- Lucy and Fearless Einstein and a ball python called Archimedes, that explains enough right there! They all are lovers of music (live if possible), camping, boating, movies of every genre and all living creatures.

image coming soon Amy Anderson
Amy was born in Roseburg, Oregon and moved to Bend when she was 12 years old. She has been at Bend Veterinary Clinic for 10 years and really enjoys being with us.

Amy has five cats; Kyoo her 9 year old female who loves to fetch mice, Mizar a 6 year old male who gets very excited over any bug that may come into the house, Spica (Spika) a 2 year old male who loves to watch birds outside and is very mischievous getting into everything in the house. And last but not least, Jethro a 5 year old male that is completely blind. She adopted him shortly after he had his eye removed due to infection and neglect as a kitten.

She enjoys spending time and playing with her cats, camping and gardening. She has a variety of tropical houseplants from ivy plants to even a banana plant. Someday she hopes to have her own house where she can have a large garden and lots of room for her kitties to play.
Juan C Ortega, Medical Staff Juan C. Ortega
Juan was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, where he studied veterinary medicine at National University and received his license in 1988. His career path is focused in the field of small animals. He has worked in a veterinary laboratory that produces vaccines for pets and livestock. He has also worked in the Mexican Humane Health services studying the demographics and statistics of infectious diseases in animals that can be transmitted to humans (Zoonosis).

Before moving to Bend, he was in charge of the San Juan de Aragon Zoo, a metropolitan zoo, with a collection of 1,560 animals and a variety of 56 different species. His goal is to obtain his veterinary license and practice veterinary medicine in Central Oregon, a place he loves for its people and natural surroundings.

Juan is married to Peggy, a retired diplomat from the US Department of State and share a love of their two cats Rumba and Tango.
Kalei Lucas, Medical Staff Kalei Lucas
Kalei Lucas started at Bend Veterinary Clinic in June 2008. She previously lived in Hawaii when she was child, but has called Bend, Oregon home for over 20 years.

She is married, has three very active children, Anela, Llliana and Treyden (born 2001, 2003, 2005), five American Bulldogs and a cat. She and her husband love the outdoors; camping, fishing, taking the kids and dogs to the lake to swim. When she is not at the clinic she spends most of her time taking to school functions or some sort of sporting event and/or practice.

Kalei and her husband breed American Bulldogs. They both grew up with all types of different dog breeds, but there was something different about this particular breed that they just fell in love with. Their dogs are raised in the home around their children, not in cages. Their goal is to breed to positive temperament, family protection, solid muscle and bone structure and work potential. To see their dogs and breeding program, you can check out their website at High Desert Bulldogs.

Lisa Bishop, Medical Receptionist Lisa Bishop, Receptionist
Meet List Bishop. She is a receptionist here at Bend Veterinary Clinic and has been with us since September 2007.

Lisa started working for Dr. Maas at Central Oregon Animal Hospital back in 1996 and was there for 8 years. Having missed her family in Southern California, she moved back down and spent four years in the Palm Springs area. Lisa worked for a big veterinary hospital there for three years, before returning to Bend.

Lisa lives in Redmond on a ranch she likes to call "Bishop Ranch" with her husband, Joe and her son Aidan. They have two dogs, a cat and four goats. This past summer of 2009 they grew Organic Hops on their farm.

Lisa enjoys camping, boating, jet skiing, cooking and snowboarding.

Bend Vet Clinic Staff- Nichole Morgans Nichole Morgans
For the first seven years of her life, Nichole grew up in the southern states of Texas, where she was born, Oklahoma and Louisiana. She then moved to California with her family for three years prior to moving to Bend, OR in August 2000. Nichole started at Bend Veterinary Clinic doing a job shadow for Mountain View High School. She had always wanted to work with animals and felt lucky to have the opportunity to be at BVC. After shadowing, she volunteered her time
and was shortly thereafter hired as kennel girl in June 2007. As kennel girl her duties included maintaining the kennels and feeding/walking the patients and boarders. Nichole is now working as a veterinary assistant and is anxious to learn everything she can to become a veterinary technician. Nichole's interests include traveling, being outdoors, and spending time
with her family. She currently has two cats named Ivan and Luna who she loves very much!
